against electricity theft is going on in all eight districts of
FESCO region. More than 57 people have been fined more than 45
Lacs for being involved in electricity theft. Strict action is
being taken against them. FESCO special raiding teams caught 57
more electricity thieves red-handed from different areas of
FESCO’s six operation circles of Faisalabad First, Second, Jhang,
Toba, Mianwali and Sargodha. They were found guilty of
electricity theft by making holes in the body of the meter,
tempering, with shunt system and hole the body of the meter.
After disconnecting the connections of these electricity
thieves, they were issued fines of more than 45 lakhs in the
form of more than 150,000 detection units. While 57 more
applications have been filed for registration of FIR’s in the
relevant police stations for legal action against them. Chief
Executive Officer hole Engineer Bashir Ahmad has appealed to the
consumers to keep a close watch on the incidents of electricity
theft in their surroundings and their Identify and report to
hole immediately. The total number of power theft cases in FESCO
region during the two days has increased to 106.

In the light of the orders of the Ministry of Energy (Power
Division), large-scale transfers of officers were made in the
FESCO Region to make the ongoing special campaign against
electricity theft more effective and to maintain its
transparency. 195 officers of various cadres of FESCO have been
transferred. They include 13 Superintending Engineers, 52
Executive Engineers/Deputy Commercial Managers and 130 SDOs/Revenue
Officers. While 14 FESCO officers with low performance have been
posted on desk jobs at FESCO Headquarters. All the officers have
taken charge of their posts and started work. According to the
Ministry of Energy, there will be a clear reduction in the
incidents of electricity theft with the transfer of officers.

Tahseen Awan has said that new Grids are being constructed and
old grids are being upgraded to strengthen the electricity
distribution system across the region and provide quality
services to all types of consumers. Because the energy sector is
the backbone of country's economy, trade, agriculture and
domestic activities. Development without energy is impossible.
Company's growth journey is being accelerated. They are
inaugurating 132 KV Gokhowal Grid Station to be constructed in a
short span of four months. On this occasion, FESCO Board
Director Raja Ameer Hamza and GM Operation Rana Ayub were also
with him. He further said that the special effort of former
member of National Assembly and opposition leader Raja Riaz
Ahmed is included for the construction of 132 KV Gokhowal Grid.
The construction of Grid will provide relief to the small and
big industries of the area. 30 thousand new connections will be
installed and it has been completed in a record time of four
months. Earlier, General Manager Operation Rana Muhammad Ayub
and Project Director GSC Nadeem Akbar Kahlon gave a briefing and
said that the Grid Station has been constructed at a cost of
more than 52 crore rupees and two power transformers of 40 MVA
capacity have been placed in it. It will provide relief to the
existing 132 KV Millat Road Grid and Chiniot Road Grid and will
improve the voltage profile in the area. Line Losses will also

FESCO achieved another milestone. Faisalabad Electric Supply
Company (FESCO) has achieved 8.59 percent losses, which is 0.25
percent less than the target of 8.84 line losses given by NEPRA
Authority in the year 2022-23, saving the company's 991 million
rupees. Here it is worth mentioning that the losses of FESCO in
the last five years were less than the targets given by the
NEPRA Authority. Chief Executive Officer FESCO Engineer Bashir
Ahmed and CFO Mian Nazir Ahmed informed NEPRA in the public
hearing of the five-year multi-year tariff for the financial
year 2023-24 to 2027-28 that the recovery of the company is 100%
and FESCO is working with about 11,500 employees instead of
24,000 employees and the officers and employees of the company
are striving to provide the best and uninterrupted services to
its more than 5 million customers in 8 districts. These include
the launch of new connections, construction of new grid stations
and transmission lines, installation of new transformers in the
system, replacement of old transformers, grid up gradation, net

FESCO officers have
assigned special duties and nine regional control rooms have
been established in Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali,
Chiniot, Kamalia, Bhakkar and Jauhrabad to ensure the
uninterrupted power supply throughout the region during Muharram
said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faisalabad Electric Supply
Company (FESCO) Engr. Bashir Ahmad, he was presiding over a
special to review the arrangements during the Moharram. He said
that all possible measures have been adopted to ensure
uninterrupted power supply across the region of Muharram and
Ashura. He further said that he would directly monitor
performance of the central control room established at the FESCO
Headquarters, in order to ensure continuous electricity supply
while skilled technical staff along with FESCO vehicles and
necessary equipment would be available during the Muharram
processions and Majals. He further said that different FESCO
teams have re-examined the routes of Imam bargahs, Zul-Jinah and
Tazia with the support of the district administration in nine
districts across the region and improved the electricity cables
on these routes so that mourners do not have to face any problem
and the law and order work is not disturbed. The CEO further
said that the leaves of the FESCO officials and officers
involved in the emergency squad have been canceled immediately
so that the emergency power issues during these holy days could
be resolved immediately while transformer trolleys were also
provided to various divisions to deal with any emergency
situation. Meanwhile, the Health Safety Environment (HSE)
Directorate FESCO has issued safety instructions regarding
Muharramul-e-Haram in light of the special directives of CEO
FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmed. According to the instruction, avoid
using iron rods with Taziya processions so as not to
accidentally hit the electricity wires and cause an accident and
during the procession do not touch the "electric pole or stay
wire" of FESCO installations.Do not make direct connections of
lights to FESCO's LT lines for lighting, which may lead to any
fatal accident, for installation of light contact the
corporation staff. Wherever the electric pole is broken and the
wires are close to the ground, the public is requested not to
touch them and strictly prevent their children from touching
them and immediately approach the concerned FESCO office and do

Chairman FESCO/WAPDA Malik Tahsin Awan has announced the
establishment of four new Sub Divisions, complaint office and a
new grid station at Jhang Circle, he made these announcements on
the occasion of inauguration of Transformer Reclamation Workshop
(TRW) and up-gradation of 132 KV Jhang-II Grid Station at Jhang
Circle.
He said that record electricity development projects have been
completed in Jhang Circle with an estimated cost of Rs.5.6
billions, which is unprecedented. He further said that a new
grid station was constructed in Kamalia with Rs.622 million,
while the construction of a new grid station would start soon in
Ada Gojra with an estimated cost of Rs.700 million. The new
proposed Sub Divisions are included Kot Shakar, Haveli Bahadur
Shah, Garh Mor and Shabirabad Sub Division. Chairman FESCO Malik
Tahsin Awan further said that a Transformer Reclamation Workshop
is being constructed at Jhang with an estimated cost of 130
Million, due to which 1000 transformers would be prepared and
repaired annually at the local level. Resultantly, officials of
the Jhang, Gujra, Toba, Kamalia will not have to come to
Faisalabad for the repair of transformers, thus FESCO will save
a lot of money in terms of transportation and consumers will not
have to suffer due to damaged transformers. He further said that
a 40 MVA Power Transformer of double capacity has been installed
at Jhang-II grid station with an estimated cost of Rs.120
million which would be helpful for consumers of the area to get
relief from the problems of low voltage and grid will not be
overloaded. Chairman FESCO also issued orders to replace and
repair crooked and damaged poles in Jhang Circle within a period
of one month. He congratulated the officers and staff of Jhang
Circle for their excellent performance with less staff. At this
occasion, former Provincial Minister Maher Aslam Bharwana and
former District Nazim Nawab Babar Ali Khan in their address
appreciated the efforts of Chairman FESCO Malik Tahsin Awan and
FESCO administration and thanked them for the upgradation of
Transformer Workshop and grid station at Jhang Circle. They said
that undoubtedly, under his leadership, FESCO is making progress
and customers' problems are being solved at their doorsteps
immediately. General Manager Operations Rana Muhammad Ayub in
his address said that the establishment of Transformer Workshop
in Jhang Circle would be beneficial for both consumers and FESCO
and it will be possible to solve the problems of the consumers
speedily. He further said that upgradation of Jhang-II will not
only improve power supply to consumers and eliminate their low
voltage problem but also escalate installation of new industrial
and agricultural connections in the region which would boost
commercial activities. Chief Engineer Planning Faisal Raza Marth
while addressing the event said that FESCO is determined to
ensure the provision of all kinds of modern facilities to the
consumers. In this regard, work on various projects is going on
rapidly and any kind of lapse will not be tolerated.

Chairman Faisalabad Electric Supply Company FESCO/WAPDA Malik
Tahsin Awan has said that on the special directives of the Prime
Minister of Pakistan, the speed of electrical development work
is being accelerated in the FESCO region to speed up the journey
of development in remote backward areas, in order to ensure
uninterrupted power supply to the people of these areas as well.
He said that work on various development projects is going
rapidly to provide quality services to consumers of the FESCO
region. He further said that the present government utilizes all
available resources to put the economy of the country on the
right track. A new 20/26 MVA capacity transformer has been
installed at 132 KV Bhagtanwala Grid Station with a cost of Rs
129.6 million, while 40 MVA power transformer has been installed
at Sargodha Second Grid with cost of Rs.125.8 million, he added.
On this occasion, Member National Assembly Barrister, Mohsin
Shahnawaz Ranjha said that the government is utilizing all
resources for the construction and development of rural areas.
Earlier, Bhagtanwala and Sargodha grid stations were overloaded
due to which consumers were facing low voltage and other
problems. Now by installing double capacity power transformers
on these grids, low voltage and other problems related to
electricity will be eliminated and there will be uninterrupted
supply of electricity to the consumers. Member of National
Assembly Hamid Hameed while addressing the ceremony said that
the provision of basic facilities to the common people is among
the top priorities of the present government, for which no
effort will be spared. On the long-standing demand of the area,
the grid station has been upgraded to eliminate the complaints
related to electricity, which opens new chapters of development
in the area. General Manager Rana Ayub said that the
up-gradation of Bhagtanwala and Sargodha grid stations will
provide better facilities to the people of the area and the
launch of new connections will be faster, which will increase
industrial, agricultural and commercial activities in the area.

Chairman FESCO (WAPDA) Malik Tahsin Awan has said that 167
different electricity development projects were completed in
Sargodha district during the last financial year with an
estimated cost of 206 million, he was addressing a meeting held
at Sargodha Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He said that
industrial consumers are the top priority of FESCO because the
industrial sector is the backbone of the country's development
and also a main source to provide job opportunities to the
youth. On the complaint of the industrial consumers, he issued
orders to install MDI meters to eliminate the billing complaints
of the industrial consumers of Sargodha, establishment of modern
computerized machine at Sargodha Chamber of Commerce & Industry
SCCI for registering online electricity complaints and also
announced facility of extension of date of electricity bills
for industrialists. On the request of President Chamber Sajid
Hussain Tarar, he also issued orders to replace the crooked
electricity poles installed in different parts of the city with
in the next ten days. He said his servicea are available round
the clock and their doors are always open for redressal of
employee grievances. There is no load shedding for the
industries sector, Fesco is the most prominent company in the
country and due to its best service to the customers and
excellent recovery, The company has sufficient quantity of all
types of equipment like meters, poles, wires and transformers
while 4700 manpower will be recruited after the approval of
competent authority. Earlier, During his address President
Sargodha Chamber Sajid Hussain Tarar said that the role of FESCO
WAPDA is very important for industrial development. It is
gratifying that electricity is available in abundance in the
country and people are almost relieved from the burden of load
shedding. But the increase in electricity rates is becoming
unbearable for the people and industries. Cheap power is
essential for the survival of industries and consumers. He also
raised points to to fix/replace crooked poles at various places
in the city, especially on City Road, Hamid Ali Shah Road and
Liaquat Market Road, issuance of early demand notices on
requests for commercial transformers, to facilitate the
installation of solar green meters. He also request d to
facilitate the extension of the date of payment of industrial
bills and remove the shortage of staff. During his address MNA
Hamid Hameed said that Malik Tahsin Awan has raised the image of
the department in the eyes of the public and FESCO consumers
with his all-round personality and active initiatives. People
are getting relief due to their tireless efforts he added. He
said that Tahsin Awan has upgraded the Bhagtanwala, Sargodha 2
and Sargodha City grid stations in Sargodha at a cost of more
than 46 million rupees, which will be a revolution for
installation of new agricultural, commercial and industrial
connections, improving voltage and industrial development. Work
in 110 more schemes is in full swing Sargodha circle with 165
million rupees which will benefit the consumers of 184 areas.

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) spokesman has
informed the Public and candidates that currently FESCO has
advertised the ad for the recruitment of Officers (Equivalent to
BPS-17) and under the Disabled quota only. FESCO has not yet

BPS-01 to BPS-16. FESCO spokesman said that it has come to the

On the special directives of the Ministry of Energy (Power
Division), Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faisalabad Electric
Supply Company (FESCO) Engr. Bashir Ahmad has set up emergency
centers across the FESCO region to ensure the uninterrupted
power supply to the consumers during Eid holidays. A central
control room has been set up at the FESCO Headquarters, which
will be supervised by the CEO, FESCO. At the complaint centers
of all the five operation circles of the region, the staff is
directed to perform their duty in three shifts round the clock.
In this context, the Director General has issued letter to all
the Superintending Engineers (SEs), Directors and Executive
Engineers (XENs) of FESCO Region. CEO FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmed
said that uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers will
be ensured during the Eid Al-Azha holidays for which all
necessary measures have been adopted. Leaves of all field staff
have been canceled and operation/field officers and staff have
been ordered to remain on alert at their respective stations. In
addition to power outages, in any kind of fault/tripping or
emergency situation FESCO staff will be available at all times
and to restore the electricity supply. He further said that
FESCO is committed to ensure the uninterrupted power supply to
rural areas in addition to urban areas on this happy occasion of

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Board of Directors
and Ministry of Power (Power Division) have approved the
establishment of Toba Tek Singh Circle, Three Divisions and
Eight Sub Divisions in FESCO region in view of the increasing
number of consumers and provide better services. This decision
will be implemented phase wise from July, 2023. The FESCO region
consisting of the eight districts including Faisalabad, Jhang,
Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab and Chiniot
have more than 5 million consumers and the number of consumers
are increasing with every passing year. In order to provide
better services to the consumers and solve their electricity
related issues near to their doorstep, FESCO Board and
Management has decided to split FESCO's largest Jhang Circle and
establish the Toba Tek Singh Circle. The new Toba circle would
consist of Toba Tek Singh Division, Kamalia Division and Gojra
and will be applicable from July 1, 2023. While a new Kot Momin
Division under the management of Sargodha Circle and Sheikhupura
Road Division under the management of Revenue Office First
Circle and under the management of Revenue Office Second Circle
Allama Iqbal Division and Revenue Office would be established,
this would be implemented from financial year 2023-24.
Similarly, eight new Sub Division are included Naimat Colony,
Fawara Chowk, Haider Ali Shah, Aminpur, Mujahidabad, Sir Shamir,
Sufi Barkat Ali and Sial Mor. In this connection Director

Pakistan. He said that the people of the country are striving

developed nation because we are not following the principles of
Islam. Non-Muslim nations have adopted these principles and
developed their own world. Theft is found in every sector which
hinders the development of the country. We have to train and
develop the character of our youth. We can develop only by
equipping them with skills and modern technology. In her speech,
Syeda Huma Batul said that we need to think and think as a
nation and this seminar is also a link in this chain. We have to
bring forward our youth and women. It is very important to

consisting upon 350 officers and officials to Hyderabad
Electric Supply Company (HESCO) Hyderabad Sindh. The FESCO teams
will participate in the power restoration works in the affected
areas in Sindh in view of Beparjoy cyclone. The FESCO teams were
departed under the supervision of Chairman FESCO Board of
Directors (BOD) Malik Tehseen Awan and Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmed. At this occasion, CEO FESCO Engr.
Bashir Ahmed said that in this hour of disaster, we stand by the
side of our compatriot Sindhi brothers and assured them of all
possible help and cooperation. All available resources will be
utilized for this purpose. Engr. Bashir Ahmed further said that
the FESCO teams are always alert and equipped with all kinds of
equipment to restore power during the storm. Our spirits are

Grid Safety Audit (GSA) is in full swing and all safety measures
are being ensured at the grid stations to help and protect the
lives of employees and control FESCO property and environmental
impact. In this connection, Chief Engineer (T&G) FESCO Rao
Mubasher Hayat, Superintending Engineer (SE) GSO Muhammad Ali
and Deputy Director Safety Muhammad Saeed Raza visited 132 KV
Tariqabad grid station for safety audit. At this occasion, Chief
Engineering (T&G) Mubasher Hayat said that the NEPRA Safety Code
2021 should be fully compiled to protect the valuable assets of
FESCO, save the precious lives of employees and control
environmental pollution. He said that FESCO grid stations have
been equipped with sophisticated machinery to ensure
uninterrupted power supply to consumers from grid stations. He
warned that any type of negligence will not be tolerated at the
grid stations and soon Close Circuit TV Cameras (CCTV) would be
installed at grid stations. During the Safety Audit, he also
checked the first aid box, sand buckets, power transformers,
panel logout - tag out, name on front and back of panels, safety

Engineering (T&G) Mubasher Hayat said that the NEPRA Safety Code
2021 should be fully compiled to protect the valuable assets of
FESCO, save the precious lives of employees and control
environmental pollution. He said that FESCO grid stations have
been equipped with sophisticated machinery to ensure
uninterrupted power supply to consumers from grid stations. He
warned that any type of negligence will not be tolerated at the
grid stations and soon Close Circuit TV Cameras (CCTV) would be
installed at grid stations. During the Safety Audit, he also
checked the first aid box, sand buckets, power transformers,
panel logout - tag out, name on front and back of panels, safety

General Manager (GM) Operations Faisalabad Electric Supply
Company (FESCO) Rana Muhammad Ayub has welcomed the access of
women in the power sector through internship and training in
collaboration with Asian Development Bank and FESCO. This step
of ADB is very important to reduce gender discrimination in the
power sector and provide equal employment opportunities to women
in the energy sector. He was addressing a ceremony at the FESCO
Headquarters to award certificates to 12 female internees on
completion of six months training. He appreciated the management
of Asian Development Bank (ADB) for creating opportunities to
serve women in the fields of Science, Engineering, Information
Technology and mathematics that is a link to utilize their
skills and make them more effective. FESCO has set a new
precedent by providing this opportunity to women, he added.
Director General (HR) FESCO Athar Ayub Chaudhry said that the
objective of this project of Asian Development Bank is to
increase the participation and employment of women in highly
skilled and non-traditional occupations in the power sector.
This program of ADB is very important to give equal employment
opportunities to women in the power sector, he added. He further
said that women who have graduated from different national
educational institutions will get a six-month internship as
internees and later chance of job opportunities. Women workers
are fully respected and protected in FESCO, he added. The
successful internees who completed the internships are included

Chairman Faisalabad Electric Supply Company FESCO/WAPDA Malik
Tahsin Awan has said that the efforts of the operation staff for
the immediate restoration of the FESCO distribution system after
the severe storm and rain are commendable. He also appreciated
the quick response of FESCO staff for the fast restoration of
electricity despite the shortage of staff and said that
uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers is the
company's top priority for which all resources are being
utilized. He expressed these views while visiting Distribution
Control System (DCC), Medina Town Sub-Division and People's
Colony Sub-Division During the visit he reviewed the practical
steps taken to redress the complaints of the consumers in the
rain and storm affected areas and also checked the complaint
registers at the complaint centers of the both sub-divisions. At
this occasion, General Manager Operation Rana Muhammad Ayub,
Chief Engineer Operation Muhammad Rafiq and Superintending
Engineer First Circle Rana Afzal were also present. He directed
the FESCO officers and officials to take all possible measures
to restore the FESCO installations and electricity and to
resolve the individual complaints of the consumers immediately.
Chairman FESCO/WAPDA Malik Tahseen Awan has also appealed to the
customers to stay away from electricity poles, transformers and
other FESCO installations during heavy rains and storms and
report any problem to the FESCO staff to avoid any untoward

Muhammad Ayub said that the operation staff of FESCO is fully
alert and the restoration work was started as soon as the rain
stopped. He further said tht on the special directives of Chief

Federal Minister for
Energy Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan has said that the power sector
is being made consumer-friendly through implementation of the
state-of-the-art technology of Advance Metering Infrastructure
(AMI). He expressed these views while addressing an inauguration
ceremony of the newly established Advanced Metering
Infrastructure (AMI) Cell at Faisalabad Electric Supply Company
(FESCO) Computer Centre here today. The ceremony was also
attended by chairman FESCO Board of Directors (BODs) Malik
Tahseen Awan, chairman GEPCO BOD Shoaib Butt, CEO FESCO Engr
Bashir Ahmed, General Manager (Operation) Rana Ayub, BOD members
and FESCO officers. Engr. Khurram Dastgir said that the
implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) will
enable FESCO and its consumers simultaneously access to
real-time monitoring of meter data which would not only help to
control the electricity theft and technical losses, but also
helpful to eliminate over-billing. The Federal Minister said
that the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) would be helpful
in the fault tracing and immediate restoration of power supply
in case of power failure. Due to the real-time provision of
complete information regarding the usage of electricity on smart
mobiles and computers of the consumer, there will be an end to
the wastage of electricity due to the effective control of the
consumer's electricity usage times and bills. During the
briefing Chief Executive Officer FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmed & DG
(IT) Abdul Hayee told that FESCO is replacing all industrial and
agricultural electricity meters phase wise with its own
resources to provide better service to its consumers and more
than 6,000 consumers have been shifted to this technology. He
said that the establishment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure
(AMI) Section at FESCO Computer Center Faisalabad would escalate
and improve performance of the project and all functions related
to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) will be possible under
the one roof. Meanwhile, CEO FESCO briefed the Federal Minister
Khurram Dastgir about the FESCO performance and said that there
is no single power transformer overload of FESCO jurisdiction.
He further said that with the construction of 500 KV Faisalabad
west and 220 KV Lalian grid stations by NTDC, due to improvement
in network and reduction in losses, FESCO has benefited more
than one billion in a short period of eight months. He said that
there is no shortage of new meters in FESCO, recently 60,000
defective meters have been replaced and new meters are being
installed within 15 days on application for new meters. FESCO is
spending billions of rupees annually to improve its distribution
system and 9 grid stations are being constructed across the
region with an estimated cost of 3890 million, he added. Federal
Minister Khurram Dastgir appreciated the performance of the
FESCO and congratulated Chief Executive Engineer Bashir Ahmad
and other officers and said that FESCO's performance is worthy
of imitation by other distribution companies. Special Adviser to

The recovery campaign against defaulters should be accelerated
and initiate action against defaulters without any
discrimination to achieve the set recovery targets, said Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company
(FESCO) Engr. Bashir Ahmed. He was addressing a conference of
Superintending Engineers (SEs) and Executive Engineers (XENs)
across the region held at FESCO Headquarters here today. He said
that the pending commercial and industrial connections should be
installed immediately. The CEO directed SE Grid System Operation
(GSO) Rao M. Ali to patrol the transmission lines, and said
that braces of towers and poles should be welded and there
should be no shortage of braces. He also ordered to release a
budget of Rs 190 million to all the five circles to remove the
hazardous points. He directed the Project Director Construction
Waqas Baig to complete all such HT and LT proposals on priority
basis, which are 70 to 90 percent complete so that the targets
set in the month of June are achieved and the consumers also get
relief. He congratulated the GSO staff for rebuilding and
running the lines in record time of the four towers of Wan
Bhacharan, Dawood Khel transmission lines that collapsed due to

More than 100,000 new electricity meters have been installed and
replaced in the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO)
region during the last one month, while new electricity meters
are being installed rapidly throughout the region, there is no
shortage of electricity meters in FESCO said, Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmad. He was addressing an E-Kachhari
organized on Facebook for FESCO consumers on the special
directives of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division). He
further said that by conducting online Katcheries not only
reducing the problems of the consumers but consumers also inform
the FESCO officers about their electricity related problems
directly which helps the FESCO management to improve their
services. He said that the immediate resolution of consumers'
complaints is a reflection of the government's vision and the
holding of online Katcheries is a link in this chain, which is
proving to be helpful in solving the problems of electricity
consumers. Consumers from Faisalabad, Jhang, Chiniot, Sargodha,
Mianwali, Bhakkar, Toba Tek Singh and Khushab districts informed

severe thunderstorm and rain last night, dozens of high tension
and low-tension poles were broken. Breakdowns and incidents of
trees and flex boards falling on electricity lines occurred. On

arrived at the site and started restoration work and restored
the system late at night. System maintenance operations were

Operating Procedure) SOPs given in the safety manual, compliance

implementation of Safety Management System and play an active
role in promoting safety culture and its implementation to
ensure prevention of accidents in FESCO. On the direction of

Mianwali, M&T, GSO, GSC and PD. During the safety audit, under
the supervision of Director Health Safety & Environment

complete checking of safety register, record and T&P of all SEs,
XENs, SDOs and line staff will be done and their overall
performance will be evaluated. The performance of all the
circles will be evaluated in five categories and one XEN, SDO,
LS, Lineman and Assistant Lineman of each circle will be named
Best category while one SE will be nominated as Best at FESCO

that the Safety Directorate has issued proofreads containing the
required targets to all field formations and directed them to

A special campaign against electricity theft is in full swing
under the direction of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faisalabad
Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Engr. Bashir Ahmad. In this
connection, the special team of Jhang Road Sub-Division FESCO
seized direct supply in six factories in Chak No. 66-JB Dhandra.
According to the details, under the supervision of
Superintending Engineer (SE) Second Circle Ameer Khan and
Executive Engineer (XEN) Nazimabad Division Tufail Randhawa, SDO
Jhang Road Sub Division Faisal Nizam sent his team consisting
upon Javed Iqbal MS-II, Zain Aslam LS-I, Rashid Lineman-II, Umar
Hayat Lineman-I and Ali Asghar Technical Assistant (M&T) Second
Circle conducted a successful raid against electricity thieves
in Chak No. 66-JB Dhandra and caught the electricity theft
through direct supply from the PVC line of the FESCO in six
factories. The electricity meters of these factories were used
by Arshad Jat, Mian Ali Haider and Mian Imran. The FESCO team
removed transformers, PVC lines and other FESCO installations
including meters and submitted applications for registration of
cases under the Electricity Theft Act in the concerned police
station for legal action against these power thieves. According
to SE Second Circle Ameer Khan, these electricity thieves were
involved in electricity theft for the past one year. |

Chairman Board of Directors (BODs) Faisalabad Electric Supply
Company (FESCO), Malik Tahseen Awan has said that in view of the
current law and order situation, security of FESCO offices and
installations would be ensured so that FESCO properties do not
face any kind of loss.
In this connection, Faisalabad
Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has decided to hire services of
600 private security guards in all the eight districts of FESCO
including Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Bhakkar, Mianwali,
Khushab, Sargodha and Chiniot of FESCO region.
The recruitment of these
security guards will be initially for a period of one year,
which would be extendable for a further period of two years
based on satisfactory performance, mutual agreement and as per
the requirement of FESCO.
In this regard, sealed bids are being sought from registered
well-known security agencies with sound financial position.
Upper age limit of Security Guard is 40 years and his minimum
monthly salary is 35 thousand, Sergeant is 45 years and salary
is 40 thousand and inspector is 50 years and salary is 50
thousand while candidates should be fully fit physically and
mentally. For the recruitment of Security Guards, the minimum
civil qualification for ex-servicemen and TEVTA certificate
holders will be Matriculation. Interested firms will submit
their documents in the office of Additional Director (Security)

environment, to avoid its negative consequences, it is necessary
to promote awareness regarding plantation and its importance
among the common people. He expressed these views along with
Chief Executive (CEO) FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmad and Additional
Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Ahmed Saeed Munj on the
occasion of planting saplings in connection with a special
plantation drive at FESCO headquarters here today.
Malik Tahseen Awan said that our perfect religion also teaches
about plantation. He also directed to plant maximum flowering
and fruiting plants in FESCO offices and grid stations in all
eight districts across the FESCO jurisdiction.
CEO FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmad said that all FESCO officers and
officials should actively participate in the plantation drive
and plant fruitful, shady and flowering plants at their homes
and offices and contribute to this good and meaningful work.
Planting trees is not only a source of reward along with the
Sunnah of the Prophet but also an ongoing charity, he added. He
also directed the FESCO staff to plant a maximum number of
saplings in the offices, grid stations and colonies of all the
five circles of FESCO and arrange for their proper pruning.
Abundance of trees would reduce the summer heat which will also
help in saving electricity.
At this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG)
Ahmed Saeed said that plantation is very important for the
survival of human life and increasing environmental pollution
and weather conditions could be controlled only by planting
maximum trees. He said that according to the vision of the Prime
Minister of Pakistan, environmental pollution could be
controlled and we can breathe in a clean and transparent climate
by planting more trees.

uninterrupted power supply in the FESCO region during Chand Raat,
and all holidays of Eid-ul-Fitar. Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmad has constituted special teams for
uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers during the Eid
al-Fitr holidays and timely redressal of their complaints. In
this regard, a special monitoring desk has also been established
at the FESCO Headquarters, which will be supervised by Chief
Executive FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmad. On the special directives of
CEO FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmad, various high-level officers will
monitor load management, LT/HT breakdowns and customer
complaints during the Eid ul-Fitr holidays in addition to any
emergency and immediate restoration work in case of power
outages in the region. Similarly, General Manager (GM)
Operation Rana Muhammad Ayub will monitor the uninterrupted
supply of electricity and the performance of all officers.
During the Eid holidays, the vacations of the operation staff
have been cancelled and they have assigned emergency duties,
while transformer trolleys and additional equipment and
electricity gadgets have also been provided to the operation
staff to ensure uninterrupted power supply.Consumers can also
register their electricity-related complaints on FESCO's
Facebook and Twitter pages, apart from the Central Complaints
Cell established at FESCO Headquarters. For the convenience of
consumers, the complaint centers of all five-operation circles

that users can register their complaints directly at the

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has issued 62
transformers of 100KVA and 23 transformers of 50KVA capacity to
all the five circles, which would replace the two-phase
transformers. Similarly, the meters of the domestic consumers
who have paid their demand notices up to March 31 have also been
issued, said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FESCO Engr. Bashir
Ahmed; he was addressing an E-Court on Facebook at FESCO
Headquarters here today. He further said that FESCO is striving
hard to provide all possible facilities to the electricity
consumers while installation of new connections of consumers,
replacement of defective meters and other electricity related
issues are being resolved on priority basis. Uninterrupted
electricity supply is being ensured to the consumers during the
hours of Sehar Iftar and Taraweeh in the holy month of Ramdan.
He said that on the special directives of the Ministry of Energy
(Power Division), the problems of the consumers are being solved
at one click at home. In the light of the government's vision,
the holding of open houses is proving to be very helpful in
solving the electricity problems of consumers immediately. He
further said that all the operations and other concerned FESCO
officers and officials are trying their best to provide
uninterrupted power supply to the customers during the holy
month as well as solving all kinds of problems of consumers
promptly so that FESCO could maintain the image of a consumer
friendly company. Engr. Bashir Ahmad said that apart from the
central monitoring cell established at the FESCO headquarters,

An awareness workshop was organized, in collaboration with the
City Traffic Police (CTOP) at Faisalabad Electric Supply Company
(FESCO) Regional Training Center regarding (RTC) for the
awareness of road safety and traffic rules. Chief Traffic
Officer (CTO) Faisalabad Maqsoob Ahmed Loon was the chief guest
of the workshop. Executive Engineer (XEN) RTC Sajjad Ahmed Awan,
Instructor Kibral Saeed Abdal and Class Incharge Qasim Riaz were
also present during the workshop. During his speech, CTO Maqsood
Ahmed Loon said that CTP is utilizing all available resources
for smooth traffic flow in the city area but due to lack of
awareness about traffic rules among people, traffic problems
arise and the rate of accidents is increasing. He further said
that such workshops are effective in creating awareness among
the employees about traffic rules. He said that following the
traffic rules is the moral duty of every citizen. He said that
the main objective of this workshop is to convey the message to
the FESCO employees that they should follow the traffic rules
and avoid illegal parking on the roads, motorcycles without
helmets and rear view mirrors, driving cars without seat belts
and using mobile phones while driving so that road accidents

facilities to consumers in eight districts of Faisalabad
Electric Supply Company (FESCO) region said convener Customer
Services Committee (CSC) FESCO Board of Directors (BODs) Mian
Farrukh Iqbal, He was addressing a meeting of the Board's
Customer Services Committee held at the FESCO Headquarters here
today. He made it clear that uninterrupted power supply to
consumers as well as immediate resolution of their problems is
the top priority of the board. He further said that a satisfied
consumer is the symbol of the success of the company for which
all FESCO officers and officials should use their best abilities
and work diligently for the welfare of the company. Earlier,
Chief Engineer Customer Services Muhammad Aamir during his
briefing to the committee said that a modern queue Management
Machine has been installed at the Customer Care Center
established at FESCO headquarters for the convenience of
customers; meanwhile, a separate counter has been set up for
immediate redressal of electricity-related problems of senior
citizens and overseas Pakistanis. He said that 171 Customer Care
Centers have been set up for customers in 140 Sub-Divisions, 26
Divisions and five operation circles of FESCO. In these Customer
Centers, consumers are enjoying the facilities of installments
of bills under one window operation, extension of date, facility
of online bill validation, issuance of duplicate bill, online
registration of new connection and registration of complaints

performance of the Public Relations Directorate. He said that in
order to promote the consumer friendly image of the company
among FESCO consumers, a campaign is being conducted through

On the special
directives of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faisalabad Electric
Supply Company (FESCO) Engr. Bashir Ahmad, General Manager
Commercial and Customer Services (C&CS) Ghulam Farooq has issued
more than 47 thousand single phase meters to all the five
operation circles of FESCO region for installation of new
electricity connections and replacement of damaged/burnt meters.
The Chief Executive has also issued orders to all the
Superintending Engineers (SEs) for the speedy installation of
these meters. Totally, more than 25,000 meters have been issued
to all the five operation circles for new electricity
connections, in which 5,209 meters have been issued to the first
circle, 5,465 to the second circle, 4,341 to Jhang circle, 4,768
to Sargodha circle and 3,667 to Mianwali circle. Similarly,
totally 24,000 meters have been issued for the replacement of
damaged/burnt meters, in which 4486 meters have been issued to
First Circle, 4349 meters to Second Circle, 5877 meters to Jhang
Circle, 5790 meters to Sargodha Circle and 3498 meters to
Mianwali Circle. Due to non-availability of electricity meters,
the connections of consumers were delayed, now with the arrival
of new meters, the process of installation of connections and
replacement of faulty meters will be accelerated.

Supply Company (FESCO) Second Circle disconnected the Water &
Sanitation Agency (WASA) and Corporation electricity connection
on the liability of Rs.540 million. On the special directives of
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FESCO, Eng. Bashir Ahmed, recovery
campaign against the government defaulting departments is in
full swing. In this connection, action was initiated against
the defaulting government departments under the supervision of
Superintending Engineer (SE) Second Circle Amir Khan, in which
the electricity connection of WASA Disposal Station and People's
Colony WASA Offices were disconnected on the pending dues of Rs.
419.96 million, while Corporation and streetlights connection
severed on non-payment of Rs.128.51 million. Final notices were
served to the defaulting government departments for payment of
the arrears, but payment of dues could not be made possible, on
which the electricity connections of these departments were
disconnected and will not be restored until full payment of the
dues. |

FESCO region during Sehar, Iftar and Taraweeh, Faisalabad
Electric Supply Company (FESCO) administration has completed all
operational arrangements & finalized a comprehensive strategy
across the region to ensure uninterrupted power supply to
consumers during the holy month of Ramadan and upcoming summer
season. These views were expressed by Chairman FESCO Board of
Directors (BODs) Malik Tahsin Awan and Chief Executive Officer
(FESCO) Engr. Bashir Ahmed during a joint press conference at
FESCO Headquarters (HQs) here today. Chairman FESCO (BODs) Malik
Tahsin Awan and CEO Engr. Bashir Ahmed said that in all eight
districts of the region, including Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek
Singh, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab and Chiniot, special
desk/control room has been established to monitor the
uninterrupted electricity supply during the month of Ramdan,
which will remain operational 24 hours a day. He further said
that the monitoring cells established at FESCO Headquarters and
all five circles would be personally monitored by Chief
Executive FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmed and General Manager
Operations Rana Ayub. In the special control room, the duties to
various officers have been assigned to monitor the smooth
transmission of electricity at the time of Sehar, Iftar and
Taraweeh. Officers of Chief Engineer level will monitor the
operational activities as monitors of these circles for
immediate redressal of any emergency and consumer complaints.
Chairman Malik Tahsin Awan said that no effort would be spared
to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers
during Sehar, Iftar and Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan so that
consumers could perform their prayers with humility in this holy
month. He added that individual consumers' complaints would also
be resolved immediately. He said that the FESCO staff has been
instructed to deal with the consumers in a very friendly manner
and take steps to solve their problems immediately in the spirit
of service.Chief Executive Engr. Bashir Ahmad said that in view
of unavoidable circumstances, shutdown will be given on any
feeder in the Holy month of Ramdan only from 6 am to 10 am, but
the consumers of the respective feeders will be informed about
this shutdown in advance through SMS and Media. All FESCO stores
and subdivisions are stocked with all types of materials and
safety equipment, he added. He warned that strict action would
be initiated against officials showing a lethargic attitude.
Malik Tahsin Awan said that before the arrival of summer and the
month of fasting, a special maintenance & repairing program for
the operation system was started throughout the FESCO region,
which Alhamdulillah has been completed by March 15.During this
period, 17910 LT bus bars were ratified and fixed while load
balancing of more than 4 thousand distribution transformers was
done. Similarly, 181 two-phase transformers of various
capacities have been replaced. During this special maintenance
program, corroded HT jumpers of 11KV feeders were also replaced.
There are 247 emergency transformer trolleys available across
the region. Similarly, more than 4,000 de-fitting legs of
distribution transformers have been installed and replaced and
completed safety of 52 different hazardous locations. He further
informed that there are 522 reclaimed transformers of different
capacity and 365 new transformers are available in various FESCO
stores, which could be replaced in any emergency situation. At
the FESCO Transformer Reclamation Workshop, (TRW) thousands of
transformers were repaired and ready before the summer and
shipped to stores in eight districts across the region. |

Distribution system has been upgraded to provide uninterrupted
electricity to consumers during Ramadan, said Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Engr.
Bashir Ahmad. Area planning of dozens of feeders and maintenance
of thousands of distribution transformers as well as replacement
of corroded wires were completed across the FESCO region to
provide maximum relief to electricity consumers during Ramadan,
he added. He said that there will be no compromise on the
continuous supply of electricity, he warned that if there is an
unusual power outage in any area of the region, the concerned
officers would be held responsible and immediate departmental
action will be taken against him. He also directed that
transformer trolleys should be kept ready in all sub-divisional
offices and in case of transformer burn or damage during Sehar,
Iftar and Taraweeh hours, and electricity should be restored
immediately by installing trolley transformer so that consumers
do not face any problem at the time of worship. He directed that
FESCO staff should be present at complaints center and grid
stations in three shifts so that in case of breakdown on any
feeder, electricity could be restored in the shortest possible
time. Engr. Bashir Ahmad said that electricity bills should be
sent to customers with accurate and clear pictures by taking
accurate meter readings. Penalty policy should be taken into
account and no consumer should be penalized beyond the detection
policy. He directed the FESCO officers & officials to achieve
the set targets of reduction in line losses and recovery.

for timely delivery of Non Objection Certificate (NOC) to the

FESCO in eight districts of FESCO region including Faisalabad,

Bhakkar have been changed from 8 am to 12 pm. The working hours
of these offices have been increased for the convenience of the
candidates participating in the elections so that they can

the consumers, the duration of unavoidable shutdowns should be
minimized and consumers should be kept informed about the power
outage through all possible means, said General Manager
(Operation) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Rana
Muhammad Ayub. After assuming the charge of GM (Operation) FESCO
he has issued orders to the Superintending Engineers (SEs) of
all the five operation circles to ensure the uninterrupted
electric supply to the consumers and take all measures to
provide them maximum relief. In view of the arrival of summer,
he directed that all ongoing maintenance works in the FESCO
region should be completed by March 15. In this regard, he held
meetings with the officers of various formations and directed to
speed up the ongoing maintenance works across the region so that
consumers do not have to face any kind of electricity related
problem. He further said that defects should be identified on
the lines by patrolling the feeders and immediate steps should
be taken to remove the defects, while the trees touching the
electric lines should be removed and the old wires should be
replaced immediately. He also ordered the removal of the kite
strings and flexes hanging on the 11-KV lines, which may cause
tripping problems. He directed Executive Engineers (XENs) and
Sub Divisional Officers (SDOs) to supervise the work of line
staff and said to ensure the use of full T&P during the work and
to strictly follow the safety rules and regulations issued by
the FESCO authority so that any kind of fatal or non fatal

electricity theft and said that night raids should also be

Company (FESCO) Board of Directors (BODs) Malik Tahsin Awan.
In this connection, on the
special directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the
Ministry of Energy Power Division, FESCO offices are being
shifted to solar energy, which will save millions of rupees
annually, he added. He said that initially the buildings of
FESCO Headquarters (HQ) and Regional Customer Services Center
would be converted to solar energy.During a board briefing in the
16/2 meeting of Technical, Automation and New Initiatives
Committee, Director General (MIRAD) FESCO, briefed committee
that the cost of transferring the building of FESCO Headquarters
and Customer Services Center to solar technology is about 13.5
million. After this pilot
project, FESCO Circles, Divisions, Sub-Divisions, Customer
Services Centers and other offices in eight districts of FESCO
jurisdiction including Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh,

Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Board of Directors Malik Tahsin
Awan's positive initiative, more than 700 children of employees
who died during service have regularized from grade-1 to
grade15. Children of employees who died during duty were
recruited under the Employees Children Quota (ECQ), and were not
being regularized for years. Regularization of the services of
employees created happiness among their families. Chairman FESCO
Board of Directors (BODs) Malik Tahsin Awan welcomed the
permanency of the employees and said that the employees/martyrs'
children who sacrificed their lives for this organization have
got their right. The FESCO Board is always committed to the
welfare of the employees and will not tolerate any negligence,
he added. Earlier, the permanent employees submitted their
request to Chairman FESCO Board of Directors Malik Tahsin Awan
that they were recruited on temporary basis on Employees Son
Death Quota and not being made permanent. On this Chairman BOD
took immediate notice and directed the Legal Department & HR
Committee of the Board to review the situation regarding this
matter in the Board meeing. Later the BOD HR Committee after its
thorough analysis presented the matter to the Board with its
recommendations. In the 259/9th meeting of the FESCO Board of
Directors, Chairman FESCO (BODs) Malik Tahsin Awan and other
members approved the permanent recruitment of more than 700
employees on the death quota and also issued the Executive
Orders for regularization of their service. The permanent
employees thanked the Chairman FECO BOD Malik Tahseen Awan on
his personal efforts for their regularization and said that they
were grateful to him for solving this long-standing problem.
They assured that they would perform their duty with more

Safety Directorate Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO),
Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Chip Training and Consulting (CTC)
jointly organized training under the title "Safety and
Management in Energy Sector" at Regional Training Center (RTC)
FESCO Faisalabad. More than fifty FESCO officers and officials
from Operation, Grid Station, Regional Training Center, Circle
Training Centers and Safety Directorate from all eight districts
of FESCO participated in this training. In the training session,
Chip Training and Consulting (CTC) trainer Engineer Iftikhar
Razzaq gave useful information to the participants about the
causes of accidents in the energy sector, their prevention and
their remedies. He briefed the participants provided awareness
about causes and remedies of arc flash, causes and prevention of
electric shock, electrical and mechanical interlocking,
logout/tag out (LOTO) protocol, earthing, over current,
workplace safety and use of personal protective equipment. At
the end of the training, Deputy Director Safety FESCO Muhammad
Saeed Raza thanked the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Chip
Training and Consulting (CTC) and said that conducting such
training will play an important role and highlight the safety
culture among the officers and employees of various formations
of FESCO. Pre-training and post-training tests were taken from
the participants and a lot of useful information was exchanged
on technical topics during the group discussions. Deputy

Timely redressal of consumers' complaints and providing them
best Customer Services is the top priority of Faisalabad
Electric Supply Company (FESCO) for which all available
resources are being utilized. Installation of new electricity
connections, replacement of faulty meters and other electricity
related issues are being resolved on priority basis, said Chief
Executive Officer (FESCO) Engr. Bashir Ahmed on the occasion of
E-Katchari held on Facebook at FESCO headquarters. He further
said that on the special directives of the Ministry of Energy
(Power Division), the consumers' complaints are being given top
priority and their problems are being solved at one click at
their doorsteps. In the light of the government's vision, the
holding of open courts is proving helpful in solving the
electricity problems of consumers immediately. Consumers have
been provided the facility to directly address their complaints
to CEO FESCO, online from, which would create a user-friendly
environment between customers and FESCO management, he added.
All the operations and other concerned FESCO officers and
officials are trying their best to provide uninterrupted power
supply to the consumers as well as solving all kinds of
electricity related issues quickly. He further said that apart
from the central monitoring cell established at the FESCO
Headquarters (HQ), consumers can also register their complaints
on 118, toll-free number 0800-66554 and through Short Messaging
Service (SMS) at 8118 round the clock, on their complaints
immediate action will be initiated. During the two-hour long
online E-Court, consumers belonging to Faisalabad, Chiniot, Toba
Tek Singh, Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab and Bhakkar raised
various issues on Facebook, including slow installation of new
connections, old and broken electricity meters, voltage drop,
replacement of old wires, up-gradation of transformers and

Different government departments have pending arrears of Rs.1828
million of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO). On the
special directives of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division)
and Chief Executive FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmed, FESCO staff has
started the disconnection of defaulting government departments.
Final notices were served to these defaulting institutions for
payment of the dues, but they did not pay the electricity bills.
According to details, FESCO First Circle cut off the connections
of WASA on an arrear of 896 million defaulters. Similarly, 4.93
million rupees are due to PHA, 46 million to TMA, 37 million to
Borstal Jail. In FESCO Second Circle, Rs.120 million is due to
TMA, Rs.11.6 million to PHA, Rs.418 million to WASA, Rs.0.67
million to Police Gulbarg Sub-Division and Rs.31 million to Road
and Building Department. TMA Jhang has liability of Rs.31.89
million, live stock has liability of Rs.5.19 million, District
Roads & Building Jhang of Rs. 3.20 million, Punjab Forest &
Wildlife Rs.1.83 million, Punjab Irrigation & Power Department
Rs.1.56 million, Agriculture District Government Jhang Rs.1.39

was addressing a meeting held at the FESCO Headquarters (HQs)
along with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FESCO Engr. Bashir
Ahmed regarding the electricity development projects in
different constituencies of Jhang district. The meeting was also

Faisalabad the campus status of the proposed university of WAPDA.

this occasion that WAPDA is establishing a university in line
with modern requirements which will start working very soon and
WAPDA Engineering Academy will have its campus in Faisalabad.
Engineering Academy Faisalabad will be upgraded. WAPDA
University will act as a center of excellence in curriculum and
research directly related to national development and the
university will help bridge the gap between industry and

is the backbone of the FECO and their role in the department is
admirable. He further said that FESCO is spending millions of
rupees every year for the safety of its workers and protective
equipment are being procured for them to reduce the risks for
precious lives of the line staff during work. He also directed
the line staff to ensure the use of T&P and safety gadgets
during work. Do not work without the permit and earthing of the
lines, he added. Addressing the seminar, Executive Engineer
Jaranwala Division Ghulam Nabi Memon said that the linemen
perform their duties while putting their lives at risk, for
which I salute them. The line staff strives to fulfill their
departmental responsibilities irrespectively during the extreme
heat and cold weather, with their tireless efforts to ensure

A state-of-the art WAPDA University will start functioning soon,
as prerequisites for establishing the University are being
accomplished at a fast-track.
Announcement to this effect was made by Chairman WAPDA Engr Lt
Gen Sajjad Ghani (Retd) during his visit to WAPDA Engineering
Academy Faisalabad today. GM (Admin) Brig Muhammad Tufail (Retd),
GM (Training Institutes & Education) Anwar-ul-Haq and Focal
Person (WAPDA University) Shahid Hamid were also present on the

Elaborating the fundamental objectives for setting up the
University, the Chairman said that WAPDA University would serve
as a centre of excellence in academics and research in various
disciplines direly needed for the national development. The
University will also help bridge the gap that exists between the
academia and the industry in Pakistan. This will be done by
introducing the curricula especially designed for the purpose,
he added.
The Focal Person (WAPDA University) briefed the Chairman about
the progress on key milestones for establishing the University
including charter, feasibility report, financial management and
the programmes to be offered at the University.
WAPDA University is being established with its Principal Seat at
Islamabad and Campuses at Lahore and Faisalabad. WAPDA
Engineering Academy is being upgraded to a fully-fledged Campus.
Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Management Sciences and
Faculty of Social Sciences will be introduced at WAPDA
University in a phased manner.

viewed the training facilities available there. Earlier,

meeting with former MNA Mian Farooq regarding WAPDA issues of
Constituency NA 105. In which former District Chairman Mian

Coordinator Chairman FESCO Mian Muhammad Ajmal, Executive
Engineers (XEN) besides the Sub Divisional Officers also

NA105. He said that according to the vision of the Prime

Federal Minister for
Energy (Power Division) Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan has said
that our mission is to serve the people and provide them a
better future. The process to resolve consumer complaints at
their doorsteps would continue in future. Construction of new
132 KV grid station at Kot Momin will eliminate low voltage in
the area and ensure uninterrupted power supply. Consumers will
get quality service and installation of new agricultural,
industrial and commercial connections. He said that grid would
be constructed in the next six months at a cost of about one
billion. He was addressing the laying foundation stone ceremony
and public meeting of the new 132 kV grid station in Kot Momin.
He added that the government will provide local fuel and It is
working on an emergency basis to obtain electricity from cheap
sources. The government has neither taken any decision nor
thought of increasing the electricity rates. The reason for the
low recovery of the power sector in the first quarter is due to
the destruction of the flood in Sindh, South Punjab and KP
which destroyed the power and distribution system. Ministry of
Energy has started a project to install AMI meters to provide
better service to consumers, eliminate complaints of meter
reading and over billing. All distribution companies are working
on this project. The implementation AMI project will also help
in controlling electricity theft and technical losses. The
quality of billing will also be greatly improved. Complaints
related to overbilling will be resolved and electricity wastage
will be eliminated. Speaking at the foundation stone laying
ceremony of Kot Momin Grid, former Minister of State and Member
of National Assembly Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said that earlier
there were low voltage and other problems of electricity in Kot
Momin and neighboring areas of Bacha Kalan, Laliani, Muzamabad
and Matila etc. Similarly, new commercial, agricultural and
domestic connections were pending. Now Kot Momin grid will be
constructed in the next six months, 5 new 11 KV feeders will be
brought out and the people will get relief in installation of
new connections. The construction of the grid was a
long-standing demand of the people of Kot Momin, which today is
fulfilled by the current Democratic government. The Muslim
League government has always given priority to the policy of
providing facilities to the people and in the light of the
vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Shahbaz Sharif,
this process will continue in future, he added. At this
occasion, CEO,FESCO Eng. Bashir Ahmad said that FESCO is
constructing this grid station with its own resources. Its
construction will provide relief to 5 other grids Bhalwal,
Bhabra, Pathankot, Sargodha 2 and Headafkirian and will
strengthen the system. In the ground breaking ceremony of the

Present democratic government is trying to provide better job
opportunities to the youth, said Chairman Faisalabad Electric
Supply Company (FESCO) Board of Directors (BODs) Malik Tahsin
Awan. He said that according to the vision of the Prime
Minister of Pakistan Mian Shahbaz Sharif, the recruitment
process in FESCO has started. In this connection, the FESCO
administration has published an advertisement for the
recruitment of 130 vacant posts of scale 17. Among them 8 posts
of Assistant Director (Accounts/Finance), 5 of Assistant
Director (Audit), 4 of Assistant Director (MIS), 4 of Assistant
Director (PS/A), 7 of Assistant Director (HR/Admin), 1 of
Assistant Director (Environment), 1 of Assistant Director
(Social Impact), 2 of Assistant Director (Litigation), 6 of
Assistant Director (Legal/Labor), and 6 posts of Assistant
Director (FSM/MM) Field Store Manager are included. The
recruitment process for these posts has been started. 72 posts
of SDO (Operation), 2 posts of SDO (Civil) and 12 posts of
Revenue Officer, which were previously advertised, are in
progress and the written examination for them is expected in

MNAs, MPAs and ticket holders of Faisalabad Division here today
He said that under the vision of Pakistan Prime Minister Mian
Shahbaz Sharif and Muslim League (N) President Punjab Rana
Sanaullah, public problems are being solved immediately at their
doorsteps. In eight districts of FESCO region, new grid
stations, poles, transformers and other electrical development
works are being carried out in the light of the recommendations
of the elected representatives while we are striving for the
welfare of our party Muslim League (N) as well as public, he
added. He further said that this meeting is being held on the
directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shahbaz Sharif
and the Interior Minister and the President of Muslim League (N)
Punjab so that the steps to solve the public problems are
speeded up in the light of the suggestions of the elected
representatives of public. He said that nine new grids, more
than seven hundred kilometers of transmission lines, capacitors,
transformers and pole systems are being added in the coming days
in the eight districts under the jurisdiction of FESCO to ensure
uninterrupted power supply to the people. The Prime Minister of
Pakistan has approved the recruitment of 130 new SDOs, Revenue
Officers and Assistant Directors in FESCO while the recruitment
advertisement has been published in the media and the
recruitment process has been started rapidly. Divisional

members of parliament should send their suggestions/complaints

conducted in all Distribution Companies (DISCOs) with the aim of
preventing the loss of lives of the most valuable asset "line
staff" said Additional Chief Engineer, Health Safety Environment
& Quality (HSEQ) Tufail Ahmed during a detailed lecture on
safety audit in Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO). He
said that during fatal and non-fatal accidents, line staff lose
their precious lives or become physically disabled for life,
which causes lifelong suffering for their families. He further
said that along with ensuring the uninterrupted supply of
electricity to the consumers, we also have the responsibility to
protect the life and property of ourselves, our colleagues, the
public and the department. It can be made possible only by
following the principles of "Safety First", for which the FESCO
officers and employees have to fulfill their responsibilities in
an efficient manner so that line staff could be safe from any
fatal or non fatal accident, he added. At this occasion, Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) FESCO Engr. Bashir Ahmad welcomed Safety
Audit and said that it will help to further reduce the rate of
accidents in FESCO and understand their causes in a better way
and as a result the risks to the life of the linemen will be

produced for FESCO consumers by transferring meter reading to
modern technology (AMR) in the FESCO region. Major power
consumers in the region are being shifted to Automated Metering
Infrastructure (AMR) technology, which is yielding positive
results. FESCO is working on a project to further expand the
modern AMR system, which will be commissioned soon. He expressed
these views on the occasion of a briefing given to him regarding
AMR meters at MAPCO headquarters. Chief Executive Officer MEPCO
Meh Allah Yar was also present on this occasion. CEO FESCO

Workers Union at FESCO headquarters. The delegation was led by
Regional Chairman Hydro Union Chaudhry Sarfaraz Handal Chairman
BOD said that legitimate demands of the union would be addressed
in all possible ways as the solution of the problems of
employees is the top priority of the FESCO board. He said that
the FESCO administration is working within available resources
for the welfare of the workers and the solution of their
legitimate demands. There is a good and ideal relationship
between the FESCO management and Labor union, due to lack of
divergence, employee issues are being resolved very quickly, he
added. He further said that safety of staff working on the line

Provision of the uninterrupted power supply and best customer
services to the consumers is top priority of Faisalabad Electric
Supply Company (FESCO) said, Chairman Board of Directors (BODs)
FESCO Malik Muhammad Tahsin Awan. He said that board is
implementing "Zero tolerance" policy against corruption; he was
addressing a press conference at FESCO headquarters here today.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FESCO, Egnr. Bashir Ahmed and City
President PML (N) were also present at the press conference. He
disclosed that during the next year, different projects
including 11 new grids, 529 Kilometer new transmission lines, 47
new feeders and 700 LT proposals would complete with an
estimated cost of Rs.9 billion and the completion of these
projects would helpful to stabilize the FESCO distribution
system. The recruitment process for 86 posts of grades 17 will
be completed in the next 60 days while the recruitment process
for more than 4700 posts will be started very soon. Allied Mor
and Gokhwaal, Kot Momin, Bhabra, Kalor Kot, Hyderabad Thal,
Mankira, Chidhru, Sarai Mahajar, Katha Sangral and Jakhar grid
station will be constructed to meet the increasing electricity
needs of industrial, agricultural sector and business
development in various districts across the FESCO region. He
further said that the capacity of the power transformers
installed at the 11 grid stations at Faisalabad, Bhalwal,
Mianwali, Khewa and various districts will be increased with
heavy transformers, while 100 capacitors will also be installed
on different grids to help improve the voltage of consumers. He
said that total estimated cost for completion of these projects
is about Rs.6 billion. He said that in first phase of the
Automated Metering Infrastructure Project, 16066 agriculture and
industrial consumers would shift to the Automated Metering
Infrastructure (AMI) with an estimated cost of Rs.368 million
and scope of AMI will be extended to all industrial/agricultural
consumers which would be helpful to consumers meter reading
issues. Chairman FESCO Board Malik Tahsin Awan further said that
in the light of the directives of the Ministry of Energy (Power
Division), Government of Pakistan, FESCO administration has so
far received applications from thousands of candidates for the
recruitment of 86 posts of grade 17 till 16 October 2022. The
recruitment process for 86 posts will be completed within the
next 60 days. Similarly, the FESCO administration has requested
the Ministry of Energy for the recruitment of about 4 thousand 7
hundred vacant posts of Grade 1 to 16. After receiving the
approval from the Ministry, the recruitment process will be
started soon for recruitment on these posts, which will not only
help FESCO to improve its administrative affairs but also
provide employment opportunities to the educated youth. Malik
Tahsin Awan further said that the special teams of FESCO are
working on a war footing for correcting hazardous points across
the region for the safety of public. The services of a
consultant firm have been hired to fix the tangled and unruly
wires at various points, shop sheds and remove the electrical
disruptions faced by the public, he added. Recently, 147
operational vehicles have been provided to the field formations
of eight districts to increase the efficiency of FESCO field
staff and to resolve customer complaints immediately, which are
proving to be very helpful in better customer service/customer
care. He further informed that modern QR machines have been
installed in Customer Care Centers of all Sub Divisional Offices
of FESCO region for the convenience of customers while FESCO's
Android mobile app "FESCO Light" is also working to solve
problems at home, on which users can also benefit from other
facilities besides registering their complaints. In addition,
118 services for redressal of customer complaints and 8118 for
SMS have been linked with PITC, he added. Training of 740
employees of different levels has been completed in order to
improve the performance and efficiency of the FESCO staff,
keeping in view the safety process in particular. Similarly, a
five-day skill development program has been organized for 424
employees of FESCO to increase the working capacity of employees
in various departments. During the last three months, about one
hundred officers have been trained in their relevant fields at
different universities including Lahore University of Management
Sciences (LUMS), National University of Science and Technology (NUST)
and Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM), he added. He ordered
to hold open courts on weekly basis and said that problems of
the industrial, commercial and agricultural consumers would
resolved on top priority basis. New housing colony would be
established for the FESCO staff while they would also be
equipped with electric motorcycles, uniform and safety gadgets
of international standard. Environment-friendly electric buses
will be received as a gift from the Prime Minister of Pakistan
for the transportation of employees' children. The problems of
the FESCO manpower would solve immediately after the

Directors (BODs) Malik Muhammad Tahsin Awan, he was addressing
to the staff of FESCO Bandala sub division. Executive Engineer (XEN)
FESCO Chak Jhumra Division Faisal Shafi Rana and Sub Divisional
Officer Bandala Sub Division Wasim Bari were also present during
the visit. He warned that strict action would be initiated
against the officers and officials who failed to resolve
customer complaints immediately. Chairman Board Malik Muhammad
Tahsin Awan further said that registration of consumers'
complaints should be ensured on a daily basis with accurate data
& time and electricity related complaints should be attended
immediately and feedback should be taken from consumers through
phone after resolving the complaint. At this occasion, he also
checked the complaints register and different sections of the
subdivision. He also directed the staff to use complete T&P and
other safety gadgets while working on electricity lines.

Chairman Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Board of
Directors (BODs) Malik Muhammad Tahsin Alvi said that all
officers and officials should resolve the consumers' complaints
on top priority basis and make consumers satisfaction as their
motto, he expressed these views on the occasion of a visit to
the Regional Customer Care Center FESCO here today. Board
members Iftikhar Ahmed Ansari, Numan Khalid, Ali Ranjha and Raja
Amir Hamza were also with him during the visit. He further said
that the consumers are the most precious assets of the FESCO,
they will provide all possible facilities & better customer
care, which would enhance the prestige of the department.
Similarly, the Board of Directors will provide all possible
support for providing the best services to the consumers &
development of the organization and this will continue in the
future as well, he added. He also checked the performance of the
state of the art QR machine and token machine installed at
Regional Customer Care Center and asked questions from staff.
Later, he also visited the Distribution Control Center (DCC)
FESCO and other offices at FESCO headquarters and issued
instructions to the concerned officers for further improvement.

Bashir Ahmad gave briefing to Chairman Board Malik Muhammad
Tahsin Alvi said that FESCO administration is providing
convenience for both the consumers and the department by
utilizing IT in view of modern and changing needs. He further
said that Modern QR machines have been installed at all Customer
Care Centers of FESCO region for the convenience of customers,
while FESCO's Android mobile app "FESCO Light" is also working
to facilitate consumers at homes. Earlier, on the arrival of
Chairman Board Malik Muhammad Tahsin Alvi at the FESCO
headquarters, people from different walks of life congratulated
him and informed him about their problems; on this he
immediately issued orders to resolve the problems of consumers
immediately.
